To me, with the lone exception of the extra 6MP, I would have been paying for unimportant features. I had to find one I liked that had a real optical viewfinder, or a pretty great electronic one (I ended up with one that had both).
It was really the only reason I held out so long before switching to mirrorless. I rarely ever used my live-view screen anyway. But just like I didn't buy a video camera, I didn't buy a point and shoot camera either. The flip-out screen is right along the same lines as the video capabilities. The grip I'll give you, but I will also say the T3 felt very natural in my hands. I would be just as happy if my camera couldn't even take video, so that is never a consideration for me.
